Job Hunting

Well, I went in for my first real job interview at 7:30 AM. I was wearing khaki pants, with a redish/pinkish lacy top covered with a tan shall and new brown flats (totally going for fall colors!).  OH and not to mention my favorite layered pearl, gold necklace! Ok, enough about my outfit...lets get down to business!

The lady, was nice. Seemed pretty easy going. She and the other teachers asked me many questions. About my education, experience with kids, age, what strengths I had (school wise)..etc.

Turns out, this job entails more than I thought it would. Teacher's assistants also teach the kids as well. Taking the teacher's lesson plans and teaching some kids. I thought I would just be facilitating and helping get things flowing. I'm not qualified, nor comfortable, to be responsible to be teaching people.

There are three other people applying for this same position. I hope they don't call me (yes, don't) because I'm already stressing about it and have a bad feeling. Don't think teaching is what I'm meant to do with my major.

Fall is Here!

FALL IS HERE! (And my birthday soon approaching!)

Pet Peeves...we all have them..what's yours?

Well, well well......pet peeves. First off, WHY are they called "pet peeves"?

Yahoo Answer: "Pet peeve," meaning the one thing that annoys you more than anything else, first appeared around 1919. The "pet" (in the sense of "favorite") formulation probably owes its popularity and longevity to its mild perversity ("favorite annoyance" is a bit oxymoronic) as well as its snappy alliteration.

Urban Dictionary: (best definition) Things that people do that make you want to punch their eyes out.

Ok ok..so my pet peeves, lets see

People wearing socks with sandals...yeah, i'm not big on fashion, but I cannot stand seeing people do this! Everyone at my old school in MA did it gah!

Couples who sit on the same side of the booth/table and the other side is empty...yeah I don't know why, but it freaks me out!

Noisy Eaters

Wearing socks I have already worn (I can't put socks back on after I take them off, even if I've only worn them for a minute!)

People who know everything and make you feel inferior

People who are doing other things while I'm on the phone with them

Ppl who typ like dis

People telling me how much they paid for my gift

People putting their feet out the car window

Demanded to hang out with people when I just want to chill at home and watch movies

Alright, I guess I can stop complaining! Now, what are yours?

Zombies and Technology

Kind of a weird title, yes I know but zombies and technology ARE connected. Have you seen the picture floating around the inter-webs, should the new form of zombie...people walking, eyes glued to their phones. Our culture is technology obsessed (as well as zombies obsessions). I myself, spend many hours on my computer either on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Tumblr, StumbleUpon, YouTube, Skype, and text off and on (I also participate in online classes but that I can't change, unless I want to fail). Gah, it makes me sick writing all those down!

I've been thinking recently about how much time my family and I have been spent on our computers. My parents come home from work and turn on their online farming...anxiety forms from people not helping them complete their tasks. I too play a few facebook games, like my parents (minus the anxiety!) and play them for something fun to do. (and don't get me wrong, I'm not bashing my parents, I make fun of them for it. I love them) :) I have noticed sometimes, that I feel the "need" to check on all my games/webpages daily.

I want to change this. I need my computer for school, so I can't just pack it away for awhile. But I do want to cut down on my use. I feel like a zombie (and no I don't enjoy eating brains). Over this past summer, I grew to love the outdoors. I love hiking! Never thought I would have a hobby, but I think this one is definitely picking up. I've bought and studied many hiking maps for the White Mountains. I want to re-hike trails/mountains I've done when I was younger. I've only hiked 6 trails in my life, I want more! (I've hiked Mt. Willard, Cannon Mountain, The Flume, Lonesome Lake, Georgiana & Harvard Falls, and most recently, Mt. Washington). I've been talking to many experienced hikers and gaining more knowledge about the sport/hobby and how it hiking has its own culture.

Here's a few questions, why are people so outraged about having this Northern Pass thing built through our beautiful forests?? Most people can't get their eyes unglued from their phones, tvs, and computers so why do they care about what's outside? Has anyone been on a hike, reached a mountain top and looked out in complete aw?! Now that is a great high!

When you are sucked into technology, time seems like it speeds up 57% faster (yes, that's a random and under-exaggerated number). Days pass by before you know it. I hate wasting days sitting in this same chair I write this blog.

So this weeks goals:
1. Stay off the computer until 9 pm! (that means, i need to do something else to occupy my brain)
2. Start walking/running every morning
3. Stop my craving for brainsssss....
4. Start a new book
5. BE HERE NOW! (Romans 12:2)
